Danish Defense Ministry: Ukrainian pilots will begin F-16 training later in Aug
Ukrainian pilots will begin training on F-16 fighter jets in Denmark later in August, the Danish Defense Ministry has said.
That's according to CNN, Ukrinform reports.
A coalition of 11 countries will be involved in the training, the ministry added.
No other details were given.
Earlier on Friday, Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra confirmed receiving approval from the United States for the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
Jake Sullivan, the U.S. national security adviser, said on Friday that Washington would be ready to approve the transfer of F-16 fighter jets after Ukrainian pilots complete their training.
Reuters earlier reported, citing a U.S. official, that the United States had given Denmark and the Netherlands official assurances that the United States will expedite approval of transfer requests for F-16s to go to Ukraine when the pilots are trained.
