Zelensky shows aftermath of Russian missile attack on downtown Chernihiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky showed the consequences of a missile attack by Russian invaders on the center of Chernihiv on Saturday, August 19.
According to Ukrinform, in a post on Telegram, the head of state published a video from the scene of the tragedy and said: "This is what a neighborhood with a terrorist state is, this is what we unite the whole world against."
"A Russian missile hit right in the center of the city, in our Chernihiv. A square, the polytechnic university, a theater. An ordinary Saturday, which Russia turned into a day of pain and loss. There are dead, there are wounded. My condolences to those who lost loved ones!" he wrote.
All services are at the site: rescuers, police, medics, everyone who is needed, Zelensky added.
"Let's do even more to consolidate the world against Russian terror. Let's give even more to our state to protect life. Russia must lose this war for life to win," Zelensky said.
Oleksandr Lomako, acting mayor of Chernihiv, said there were dead and wounded following a Russian attack on the center of Chernihiv.
