Blinken condemns Russia's missile attack on Chernihiv

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has condemned a Russian missile attack on Chernihiv on Saturday, August 19.

He reported this on X (formerly Twitter), according to Ukrinform.

"We condemn in the strongest terms yet another horrific missile attack on innocent civilians in Chernihiv. We mourn this tragic loss of life, and our hearts are with the families of victims," Blinken wrote.

He added that the United States would always stand by the people of Ukraine.

"Russia must end its brutal war now," Blinken said.

On Saturday, August 19, the Russians launched a missile attack on Chernihiv, killing seven people and wounding 148 others.
