Ukraine Navy commander, U.S. 6th Fleet chief discuss current challenges amid Russian aggression
Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksiy Neizhpapa and the U.S. 6th Fleet Commander, Thomas Ishee, held another meeting via videoconference to discuss the current challenges posed by Russian aggression.
That’s according to the Ukrainian Navy Command’s press service, Ukrinform reports.
"Ukraine’s Naval Forces Commander Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa had a video conference call with the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Thomas Ishee. The two commanders discussed the situation and latest developments caused by Russia's aggression. The parties agreed on further cooperation and strong support from the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet in the war with the Russian invaders," reads the report posted on Telegram.
As noted, the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet commander congratulated the Ukrainian Navy and the entire Ukrainian nation on Independence Day and expressed confidence that Ukraine will definitely prevail in this war.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 26, the Commander of Ukraine’s Naval Forces, Oleksiy Neizhpapa, discussed the security situation in the Black Sea with the commanders of the Romanian and Bulgarian navies, Mihai Panait and Kiril Mykhaylov.
