Ukraine’s intel chief says ground operations to be expected in Crimea
The actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces will not be limited to strikes on the temporarily occupied Crimea as an actual ground operation is part of the plan.
This was stated by the Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, reports Ukrinform.
"The importance of the special operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea is about people remembering and believing that victory, their liberation and return to normal life is not far off. No one has forgotten about them, and no one is going to leave them there. And when certain strikes occur on the territory of Crimea, it will not end there. There will be a ground operation, there will be a return of our territories. Soon everyone will see their return home," said Budanov.
Answering a question of the possibility of liberating Crimea through diplomacy, the top military intelligence official noted that "any diplomacy is powerless without real force."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, GUR units conducted a brazen landing operation in temporarily occupied Crimea. During the effort supported by Ukraine’s Navy, Ukraine’s defenders landed on the shore in the area of Olenivka and Mayak settlements and engaged in a firefight with the invaders, incurring losses on enemy forces.
