First evacuation flight carrying Ukrainians takes off from Israel - MFA
The first evacuation flight with 207 Ukrainian citizens on board took off from Tel Aviv and is bound for Bucharest.
That’s according to Oleg Nikolenko, the spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukrinform reports.
"The first evacuation flight carrying 207 citizens of Ukraine, including 63 children, took off from Tel Aviv to Bucharest. The next flight is scheduled for tomorrow, October 15, to the city of Cluj (Romania)," the spokesman for MFA Ukraine wrote.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the morning of October 7, the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched an attack on Israel. Militants penetrated the country’s borders, simultaneously launching a massive rocket attack.
Nearly 1,300 people have been killed in Israel since then, and more than 3,000 have been injured.
The fate of 150 hostages held in the Gaza Strip remains unclear.
Israel officially declared a state of war and mobilized 300,000 reservists to respond to the terrorist attack.
The USA, the EU, Ukraine, and a number of other countries have condemned the attacks on Israel.
