Russia keeps single missile carrier on combat duty off Crimea coast
As of 07:30 on Saturday, October 21, Russia has three warships combat-ready in the Black Sea, including a Kalibr cruise missile carrier.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Navy believes the carrier currently has no missiles on board, Ukrinform reports.
There are no enemy warships deployed in the Sea of Azov.
There are three Russian warships in the Mediterranean, including a Kalibr carrier, with a total salvo of up to eight missiles.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russian MiG-31 fighter jets carrying Kinzhal (Dagger) missiles will patrol the airspace over the Black Sea on a permanent basis.
The press officer for Operational Command South, Natalia Humeniuk, decried Putin’s statement as “yet another manipulation”.
