Nova Poshta announces mourning for its employees killed in Kharkiv region
The postal employees who were in the building of Nova Poshta sorting center had no chance to hide in the shelter in time, because the sirens sounded a second before the explosion.
The postal operator said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"Kharkiv Innovation Terminal. A missile has just hit it. There are dead and injured, including those seriously injured. They had no chance to run to the shelter, because the sirens sounded seconds before. At the moment, all the victims are receiving medical assistance, we are in contact with hospitals and families of the victims. But, of course, this will not bring our people back. We extend sympathies to everyone," the report says.
Nova Poshta announces October 22 as a day of mourning.
"We will work and honor each fallen hero of Nova Poshta. Everyone who died in this war," the company added.
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said in a post on Telegram that all six killed and 14 injured in the Russian attack are the company’s employees who were inside the Nova Poshta sorting center.
"The victims, aged 19 to 42, received shrapnel wounds and explosive injuries. Among the hospitalized, seven people are in a moderate condition. Another seven men are in a serious condition. Doctors are fighting for their lives and are providing all the necessary assistance," he wrote.
As earlier reported, six people were killed and 14 injured in a Russian attack on Nova Poshta sorting center in Kharkiv region. According to preliminary data, the enemy hit the postal center with S-300 missiles.
