Commander Syrskyi visits Lyman-Kupiansk direction
Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi has visited the Ukrainian military fighting in the Lyman-Kupiank direction and presented them with awards.
The relevant statement was made by the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The situation is remaining challenging but controlled in that direction. Despite significant personnel and equipment losses, Russian troops continue active hostilities, bringing up reserves.
Russian invaders are making attempts to break through Ukraine’s defenses in order to reach Kupiansk, planning to block and encircle it.
In the course of the meeting, Commander Syrskyi, brigade commanders and staff officers resolved the urgent issues related to inflicting effective fire damage on the enemy, reinforcing units with reserves, logistics supplies, etc.
“We continue holding active defense. Our objective is to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, hold the captured frontiers and positions, and carry out offensive actions in certain areas,” Syrskyi noted.
Commander Syrskyi met with the Ukrainian military who had distinguished themselves in combat. He thanked the Ukrainian warriors for their heroism, resilience and courage, and handed over awards, valuable gifts and cash bonus certificates to them.
A reminder that, on October 22, 2023, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 20 Russian attacks in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction. A total of 263 enemy troops were eliminated and 23 military equipment units destroyed.
