Over 300 cruise missiles fired by Russia at Ukraine’s capital in past year
In the past 12 months, Russia has fired over 300 various-type cruise missiles at Ukraine’s capital city, as well as 14 ballistic missiles and about 400 Shahed-type loitering munitions.
The relevant statement was made by Kyiv City Military Administration on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“According to the statistical data, in the past 12 months alone, rashists have fired over 300 various-type cruise missiles, 14 ballistic missiles and about 400 Shahed-type unmanned combat aerial vehicles at the capital city,” Kyiv City Military Administration Head Serhii Popko noted.
He emphasized that Ukrainian warriors need more air defense systems, as the enemy has enough arms stocks to launch massive attacks on Ukrainian settlements.
According to Popko, strengthening the air defenses is a priority for both Kyiv as the capital and other Ukrainian cities.
“We will not refuse any weapons, as Ukrainian air defense warriors have long proven to the entire world that they are capable of making things that seem impossible – the effective air defense systems, combining both advanced and obsolete samples, the Soviet-era ones with those of NATO. Please give us weapons, and we will use them effectively,” Popko stressed.
The Head of Kyiv City Military Administration mentioned that Ukraine expects support from its Allies and partners. In his words, each Gepard or Piorun system can save lives and contribute to the common victory.
