Enemy making attempts to encircle Avdiivka - General Staff
In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy persists in its attempts to encircle Avdiivka and actively uses aircraft.
Spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Kovaliov said this during the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy does not stop trying to encircle Avdiivka, actively uses aviation, but our soldiers are firmly holding the defense and inflicting significant losses on the enemy," he said.
Kovaliov noted that the enemy's offensive actions were unsuccessful in the areas of Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, and Sieverne of Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 15 enemy attacks.
In the Maryinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. In this sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 20 enemy attacks.
In the Shakhtarske and Zaporizhzhia directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of Vodiane, Novoukrainka, Staromaiorske of Donetsk region, and Verbove of Zaporizhzhia region.
At the same time, according to him, the Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, inflicting manpower and equipment losses on the occupying troops, weakening the enemy along the entire front line.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka of Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers are firmly holding the defense, and successfully repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of Nadia and Makiivka, Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka of Donetsk region. The Defense Forces continue the assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting manpower losses on the enemy, and consolidating on the regained positions.
The spokesman said that in the past 24 hours, the Air Force launched seven strikes on enemy manpower clusters. Missiles forces hit three enemy ammunition depots, six artillery units and one air defense radar station.
As reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to October 26, 2023 eliminated about 297,120 Russian invaders, including 810 occupiers in the past day.
