Russian attacks killed nearly 120 civilians in Ukraine since Dec 29 - UN

United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine Denise Brown condemned Russian strikes that killed 11 civilians, including five children, in the Donetsk region’s Pokrovsk district.

This is said in a statement by Denise Brown, Ukrinform reports.

“The most recent surge in attacks on populated cities across Ukraine is leaving behind an outrageous number of children, women and men killed and injured, and a trail of loss and destruction. Since 29 December, the UN recorded nearly 120 civilians killed across Ukraine, and just below 480 injured. Behind each number is a story of immense suffering,” she said.

The UN coordinator expressed her condolences to the families of victims and the residents of Donetsk region’s Pokrovsk and reiterated that indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas are absolutely unacceptable and forbidden under international humanitarian law.

“This must stop,” she stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russians fired S-300 missiles at the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, killing 11 people, including five children. Eight more residents were injured.
