Russians focus efforts on Kupiansk direction in recent days – regional military chief
In recent days, Russian troops have focused efforts on attacks in the Kupiansk direction.
The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Artem Lysohor on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The Luhansk region’s de-occupied villages and fortifications of the Ukrainian military were affected by massive shelling. A total of 551 enemy projectiles were recorded within our responsibility area,” Lysohor wrote.
In his words, Russian attacks targeted Nevske and Bilohorivka. The enemy launched an air strike on the Serebrianske forestry.
“In recent days, Russians have focused efforts on attacks in the Kupiansk direction,” Lysohor added.
According to him, the enemy is making attempts to break through Ukraine’s defense lines with regular troops and assault units consisting of former convicts. Russians do not care much about tank or armored vehicle losses.
Lysohor also commented on some Russian narratives. The occupiers have recently announced their intent to restore the Luhansk region’s war-torn areas before 2035. The restoration list included just about 10% of the total number of objects that require major maintenance or new construction efforts, i.e. less than 1% per annum.
In March 2023, Russian invaders declared the construction of six all-Russian landfill sites in the so-called ‘LPR’. Now, they have set a deadline of 2030, which is five years faster than housing construction.
