Ukraine downs Russia’s Kh-59 missile over Mykolaiv region
Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down a Russian Kh-59 guided air missile launched by a Su-34 fighter bomber.
That’s according to Ukraine’s Defense Forces press service, Ukrinform reports.
"During an air alert related to the activity of enemy tactical aviation in the south of Ukraine, a Russian Su-34 fighter jet launched a Kh-59 guided air missile. Air defense forces destroyed the missile over Mykolayiv region," the statement reads.
According to the military, missile debris hit a building that is out of operation, setting its roof on fire. Firegifghters have promptly put out the blaze, the report adds.
No casualties were reported.
As reported by Ukrinform, sappers destroyed a warhead of a Russian Kh-59 missile discovered at a cemetery in Dnipropetrovsk region.
