Ukraine, Belgium sign documents on defense cooperation

Ukrainian and Belgian companies have agreed to launch cooperation in the defense sector.

Relevant agreements were reached during the Belgian-Ukrainian defense industry seminar, Ukrinform reports, referring Ukraine’s Ministry of Strategic Industry Development.

The seminar was attended by representatives of 33 Ukrainian and eight Belgian companies, the Belgian Security and Defense Industry Association (BSDI), and representatives of the government defense and security sector of both countries.

"Today's seminar resulted in the development of certain potential projects in the defense sector between Belgian and Ukrainian companies. To effectively support the development of these areas, we agreed with representatives of the Belgian side to ensure regular coordination and discussion of joint work results in the defense industry," said Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries Serhiy Boyev.

According to the Ministry of Strategic Industries, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ukrainian and Belgian defense ministries.

In addition, Belgian and Ukrainian companies signed six documents on the launch of cooperation, the details of which are not disclosed.

As reported, the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries and the Estonian Defense and Aerospace Industry Association signed a memorandum of understanding in Tallinn.
