Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has visited the frontline in the Kharkiv and Kupiansk sectors.

He said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, Russian troops continue to carry out offensive operations, focusing their main efforts on the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Kupiansk and Kharkiv sectors, conducting active assault operations in Vovchansk and on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar to capture these cities and take them under control.

In other sectors, the invaders are resorting to offensive actions to stretch the active front line, to constrain the units of the Defense Forces and to prevent them from being redeployed to other sectors of combat operations.

In general, according to Syrskyi, the situation remains difficult due to the high intensity of combat clashes and the use of armored vehicles and guided aerial bombs by Russian troops.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy is focusing its main efforts and trying to advance in the direction of Hlyboke-Lyptsi but suffers significant losses and sees no success.

"In Vovchansk, our main task at this stage is to hold back the enemy, inflict maximum losses and gradually move forward to liberate our territories," noted the Commander-in-Chief.

According to him, the situation is difficult in the area of Kupiansk. The Russian army is trying to break through the defense there from two directions. Fierce fighting is ongoing.

However, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized: "Despite the difficult situation, we have a chance to change the situation in our favor. And the defense forces are doing everything possible for this."

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian troops have increased the intensity of assault operations in the Kupiansk sector.
