Russians moving air defense systems from Mariupol to occupied Crimea

The Russian invasion forces are moving air defense systems from Mariupol on the Sea of Azov to the temporarily occupied peninsula of Crimea.

This was reported by the ATESH guerilla movement on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.

"After the successful strikes targeting Donetsk and Luhansk, ATESH assets on the ground together with the ‘Mariupol. Resistance’ unit are seeing the invaders actively relocating across the area. Our agent reported, that the Russian military personnel were ordered to deploy in residential quarters in order to secure equipment and manpower," the report says.

It is noted that according to the available reports from the ground, air defense systems have been relocated from Mariupol to the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The move likely comes in the wake of the recent series of Ukrainian strikes degrading Russia’s air defense capabilities on the peninsula that Russia sees strategically critical.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukrainian partisans operating in Crimea’s Yevpatoria discovered a Russian military equipment cluster and supplies hub.
