Ukraine's air defense units down 48 enemy drones, 5 cruise missiles overnight

Ukraine's air defense forces shot down five cruise missiles and 48 Shahed-131/136 attack drones on the night of June 6 to 7.

Ukrainian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"On the night of June 7, the enemy attacked Ukraine's critical infrastructure with Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the airspace of the Saratov region and Shahed-131/136 UAVs from the area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk and Kursk, Russia, and Cape Chauda, Crimea," he said.

In total, the enemy used five Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and 53 Shahed-131/136 drones in the attack.

Mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Air Force were involved in repelling the aerial attack.

Ukraine's air defenders shot down 48 attack UAVs and five Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.
