Russian forces shell border area of Sumy region eight times

At night and in the morning, Russian forces fired eight times at the border area of the Sumy region.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Telegram.

"At night and in the morning, Russians fired eight times at the border area and settlements of Sumy region. As many as 27 explosions were recorded. The Khotin, Shalyhyne, Esman, Velyka Pysarivka communities came under shelling," the statement reads.

The enemy fired at Khotin community with a mortar. The Shalyhyne community came under an FPV drone strike and mortar shelling.

The enemy dropped eight mines and attacked the Esman community with FPV drones.

The Velyka Pysarivka came under artillery shelling.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the Sumy region, on January 5, a police bomb squad neutralized an enemy drone with explosives, which was shot down by air defense forces.
