Macron on Mirage warplanes for Ukraine: Immediate training of pilots is a priority

French President Emmanuel Macron has declined to name the exact number of Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to be sent to Ukraine for reasons of efficiency.

He said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Our practice has always been to report the figures after it [military equipment] has been delivered and used. It's more efficient and gives our opponents less information," he said.

According to Macron, France analyzed the situation and the Ukrainian army's needs.

"I can't give you exact numbers, but the priority is to start training pilots and mechanics immediately. This is what will be started in France in the coming days, and the technical training will take place on site," Macron said.
