War update: 39 combat clashes on front lines today

Thirty-nine combat engagements have been recorded on the front lines in Ukraine since the beginning of the day.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 11:00 on Sunday, June 9, Ukrinform reports.

Ninety-six combat engagements took place on the battlefield on Saturday, June 8.

According to detailed information, over the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out 48 airstrikes against the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using 59 guided aerial bombs, 36 kamikaze drones, and almost 1,280 FPV drones. The enemy also launched about 4,000 strikes using different types of weapons, including 83 strikes using multiple rocket launchers.

Russian invaders carried out airstrikes from Shebekino and Belgorod in the direction of Lyptsi, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vesele, Staryi Saltiv, Stepova Novoselivka, Kupiansk, and Novoiehorivka in the Kharkiv region.

Russian aircraft also struck the Serebrianskyi Forest in the Luhansk region, as wel as Novooleksandrivka, Illinka, Vodiane, Pivnichne, and Novoselivka Persha in the Donetsk region.

Over the past day, Ukraine's Air Force and missile and artillery forces hit 21 enemy troop concentration areas, four air defense systems and several other important targets of the Russian army.

On June 9, Russian invaders have already carried out 558 strikes, launched a missile attack and seven airstrikes using 11 guided aerial bombs and used 35 kamikaze drones.

In the Kharkiv sector, two Russian attacks were repelled near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

In the Kupiansk sector, six assault operations are ongoing near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Berestove and Nevske. The situation is under control.

In the Lyman sector, three enemy attacks are ongoing in the Serebrianskyi Forest. One combat clash near Terny was repelled.

On the Siversk axis, a battle is taking place in the Vyimka area.

In the Kramatorsk sector, since the beginning of the day, there have been four clashes outside Ivanivske and Klishchiivka. One enemy attack was repelled, and three more are ongoing.

Russian troops remain particularly active in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy has already made 14 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Yevhenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske and Yasnobrodivka. Six attacks are still ongoing. The situation is tense, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation.

Yesterday, the Russians lost more than 450 soldiers killed and wounded in combat there. Five armored fighting vehicles, seven artillery systems, one anti-aircraft gun and six vehicles were destroyed. A tank, four artillery systems and six vehicles were damaged.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russian forces' attempt to advance near Paraskoviivka was not successful. Two attacks are ongoing in the Krasnohorivka area. The situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to updated information, the enemy lost 38 people there in the last day, including 13 of them killed in action. Two tanks, a piece of special equipment, three armored combat vehicles, an artillery system, a ground drone and two vehicles were destroyed. Three tanks, six self-propelled guns, four artillery systems and five vehicles were damaged.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attack on Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka was repelled.

In the Dnipro River sector, Ukrainian forces repelled an attack by Russian troops near Krynky.
