Zelensky visits German Surface-to-Air Missile Group: Ukraine expects two-three systems in near future
Ukraine expects a positive decision on the delivery of two or three air defense systems similar to Patriot from its international partners in the near future.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a visit to the 21st Surface-to-Air Missile Group together with German Federal Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius, when asked when Ukraine could expect the next air defense system in addition to the Patriot system, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We are working with partners from the United States and some other European partners. I don't want to say with whom from Europe yet, because we are waiting for confirmation of the very decisions you asked about. We expect a positive result in the near future regarding 2-3 systems," Zelensky said.
He also thanked Germany and the German people for their assistance to Ukraine.
The Head of State also thanked Germany for the transfer of the Patriot system to Ukraine - the third one. According to him, with this system, the Germans have strengthened the protection of the lives of Ukrainian citizens, both military and civilians.
As reported, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany would soon provide Ukraine with additional means to protect its skies and hoped that other countries would join the German initiative.
