General Staff: 74 combat clashes on front lines, enemy increases number of attacks in Kupiansk sector
Since the start of the day, 74 combat engagements have been recorded on the front lines. The enemy has increased the number of attacks in the Kupiansk sector, being most active in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 16:00 on June 12, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of the day, 74 combat engagements have occurred on the frontline of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The defense forces are restraining the enemy's offensive, employing a firm and decisive countermeasure to any enemy activity. The invaders continue to strike at Ukrainian border settlements. Today, the enemy used unguided aerial from the direction of Kucherov village in the Myropillia district of the Sumy region," the statement said.
In the Kharkiv sector, the occupiers are actively using multiple launch rocket systems from the territory of Russia’s Belgorod region. Thus, Vovchansk and Hlyboke were attacked from the direction of Shebekino, Podoliany from the direction of Ushakove, Lyptsi and Terny from the direction of Belgorod, and Veterynarne from the Valke area. In the same direction, the aggressor attacked in the Hlyboke area.
According to the General Staff, Russian troops have increased the number of attacks in the Kupiansk sector. There were six unsuccessful attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions. Three more assault operations are underway in the areas of Synkivka, Berestove and Pishchane.
The occupiers are most active in the Pokrovsk sector - 25 attacks have been conducted so far, nine of which are still ongoing. In particular, fighting is taking place in the areas of Kalynove, Yevhenivka and Novoselivka Persha. Russian aircraft drop guided aerial bombs. The areas of Oleksandropol, Vozdvyzhenka, Progres and Vovche came under bombardment.
In the Dnipro River sector, one combat engagement has been recorded today.
The Russian forces launched one attack each on the Kramatorsk, Vremivka and Orikhiv sectors. All of them were unsuccessful for the enemy.
In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of 13:00 on June 12, the Russian army launched attacks 60 times. The situation remained tense in the Pokrovsk and Siversk sectors.
