Norway donates over $45M worth of bomb launcher ammunition to Ukraine
Norway will supply Ukraine with bomb launcher ammunition worth about NOK 480 million (over $45 million).
The Norwegian government said this in a press release posted on its website, Ukrinform reports.
"Ukraine's need for firepower is extensive and urgent. […] We have now donated 81mm bomb launcher ammunition for a value of approximately NOK 480 million," Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.
According to the press release, 81mm bomb launchers normally have a range of 5-6 kilometers and supplement the heavier artillery at shorter distances.
In addition, Norway has also recently donated hand grenades to the value of NOK 50 million (about $4.7 million) and sniper ammunition to the value of NOK 3 million (over $282,000).
The Norwegian Defense Ministry announced on June 11 that the Norwegian government would contribute EUR 240 million to air defense measures for Ukraine.
