Damaged schools, kindergarten, and 12 residential buildings: Poltava region shows consequences of Russian shelling
Russian shelling in the Poltava community yesterday damaged 12 residential buildings, two schools, a kindergarten, a children's clinic, vocational education institutions, and dormitories.
This was reported by the Poltava City Council, Ukrinform reports.
"On June 17, the Russian Federation shelled civilian infrastructure in the Poltava community. The blast wave damaged 12 residential buildings, most of them are apartment buildings, and seven humanitarian buildings (kindergarten, two schools, children's clinic, vocational education institutions, dormitories)," the statement reads.
Three people were reportedly moved to places of compact residence.
As of the morning of June 18, 435 apartments were damaged.
An operational headquarters, municipal workers, social workers, international organizations, and foundations are working at the site to provide counseling, assistance, and psychological support to the victims.
It is noted that 700 windows are needed.
"An application for their free installation was submitted to the American organization Global Empowerment Mission Ukraine (GEM), which works in partnership with the Howard G Buffett Foundation (HGBF)," the city council noted.
The liquidation of the consequences continues.
As reported earlier, 22 people, including three children, were injured in the Russian Federation's June 17 attack on the Poltava region. Eight people were hospitalized.
