Rada supports tax privileges for imports of spare parts for demining machines
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted as a basis the draft laws on exemption from value-added tax and customs duties on the import of goods for the production or repair of mechanized demining machines.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Finance Committee Yaroslav Zhelezniak on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to the deputy, draft laws No. 11258 and No. 11259 were supported by 308 and 297 MPs in the first reading.
"The Parliament supported No. 11258 on amendments to the Tax and Customs Code regarding the exemption from VAT and customs duties on the import of goods for the needs of production and/or repair of mechanized demining machines," the statement said.
We are talking about a temporary, for the period of martial law in Ukraine, exemption from customs duties and VAT on the import of components (materials, assemblies, assemblies, equipment and components, including machine kits) for the production or repair of mechanized demining machines.
As reported, the territory of Ukraine, which is potentially contaminated with explosive ordnance due to full-scale Russian aggression, amounted to 156 thousand square kilometers as of the beginning of March 2024, which is about 25% of the total area of the state. Demining specialists managed to reduce it by 18 thousand square kilometers.
