General Staff: Enemy puts pressure and uses aircraft in Pokrovsk sector, with 34 attacks since start of day
Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have carried out 96 attacks along the entire frontline, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector, while Ukrainian defenders are holding the defensive lines.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 19:00 on Thursday, June 20, Ukrinform reports.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops attacked using six guided aerial bombs from the directions of Belgorod and Shebekino. The areas of Vovchansk, Neskuchne and Lyptsi were subjected to enemy bombardment.
The invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations in Vovchansk and near Tykhe.
According to preliminary data, today the Russian army has lost 59 troops killed or wounded. Several more invaders surrendered.
The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest. Fighting is currently taking place in 14 locations, including Sokil, Vozdvyzhenka and Novooleksandrivka.
The Russian army is also using aircraft in this sector of the frontline. Today, the enemy attacked Yevhenivka, Vovche and Nova Poltavka with guided aerial bombs.
In total, in the Pokrovsk sector, Russian troops carried out 34 attacks today. According to preliminary data, the Russian army has lost 295 troops, including 99 soldiers killed, in this sector of the front today. The Defense Forces also destroyed three enemy armored vehicles, two cannons, one special equipment unit and one ground control station for UAVs, as well as damaged three more armored vehicles and four artillery systems.
In the Kurakhove and Dnipro River sectors, Russian troops made two more unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian positions in each sector in the afternoon.
In the Dnipro River sector, the invaders also attacked the areas of Novotiahynka, Ivanivka and Mykolaivka with six guided aerial bombs.
In other sectors, the situation has not changed significantly.
As Ukrinform reported, Russian troops attempted ten times to improve their tactical position in the Kupiansk sector, but were unsuccessful.
