Swedish weapons proved effective on battlefield – Umerov

Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Sweden's Defense Minister Paul Johnson held a meeting via videoconference to discuss further bilateral cooperation and the use of Swedish weapons on the battlefield in Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian defense minister said this in a post on Facebook.

"I briefed him about countering the Russian occupiers' offensives and ways to neutralize their air attacks. Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia - millions of residents need more air defense systems to protect themselves," he posted.

Umerov said that the Swedish weapons used by the Ukrainian military on the battlefield proved effective.

He also expressed his gratitude to Johnson, the Swedish leadership and the people of Sweden for all their efforts for the common success.

As Ukrinform reported, Sweden will provide Ukraine with military assistance worth EUR 6.5 billion within the next three years.
