Germany donates 41 Mercedes trucks to Ukrainian border guards

The German federal government has handed over 41 Mercedes Arocs trucks to Ukrainian border guards, which will become the basis of logistics at the front.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

The head of the SBGS Serhii Deineko received certificates for the vehicles from German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäeger

According to Jäege, Germany has a close partnership with Ukraine, supports it in all areas, provides a wide range of military assistance, from air defense to mine clearance, and maintains close relations with the State Border Guard Service.

"I am convinced that you will gain good experience with these vehicles and they will help you win and be successful," the ambassador emphasized.

Deineko expressed gratitude to the German government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by Minister Annalena Baerbock for supporting Ukraine and the SBGS and said that the vehicles would be transferred to combat units and border guard detachments.

"The trucks received today will significantly increase the combat capability of border guard units, especially those on the line of contact with the enemy. They will improve the system of logistics support, delivery of military equipment directly to the places of service," the head of the State Border Guard Service said.

As reported earlier, Germany handed over 16 repair trucks for the needs of Ukrainian power engineers.
