Injury toll in enemy attack on Vilniansk rises to 18
A Russian missile attack on Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region, has killed seven people, whereas the number of those injured has increased to 18, including four children.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced this on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.
"The Russian military struck the center of the city of Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region. In a targeted, cynical and brutal manner - on civilians in the middle of the weekend. As of 20:15, seven people were killed, including two children. Another 18 people, including four children, were injured," the post said.
Following the strikes, commercial premises, houses and vehicles caught fire. A civilian infrastructure site was damaged. According to Klymenko, thanks to the prompt response of the State Emergency Service, all fires were extinguished.
Rescuers are conducting a search and rescue operation. Police officers, police paramedics, sappers and other specialized services are also at the scene.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 29, Russian forces attacked Vilniansk, not far from Zaporizhzhia. Seven people were reported killed and 11 wounded.
