Two-thirds of German arms exports sent to Ukraine - media

Two-thirds of Germany's arms exports were destined for Ukraine in the first half of 2024.

That's according to Economy Ministry data, Ukrinform reports, citing dpa.

German arms exports have reached a record high for the second year in a row, mainly due to the provision of military aid to Ukraine.

Between January 1 and June 18, the German government approved total weapons exports worth at least EUR 7.48 billion, which is 30% more than in the first half of 2023.

At the same time, about 65% of exports worth EUR 4.88 billion were destined for Ukraine.

In 2023, German arms exports reached a record EUR 12.2 billion.

In the German budget for 2024, more than EUR 7.1 billion is envisaged for military aid to Ukraine.
