Russian forces launch 2,793 strikes on Donetsk region over past day
Russian forces carried out 2,793 shelling attacks on the Donetsk region on June 30, damaging 49 civilian objects.
That's according to the regional police, Ukrinform reports.
"The frontline region was subjected to 2,793 enemy shelling attacks. The police documented the consequences of the strikes. [...] Forty-nine civilian objects were damaged, including 35 residential buildings, administrative buildings, an enterprise, garages, cars, and wheat fields," the report said.
Fourteen settlements were hit by Russian attacks, including Kurakhove, Lyman, Siversk, Toretsk, Niu-York, Tsukuryne, Yampil, Vovchenka, Illinivka, Izhevka, Myroliubivka, Nelipivka, Nova Poltavka, and Yurkivka.
In particular, the occupiers dropped eight KAB-250 aerial bombs on Toretsk, killing one civilian and injuring three others. Two apartment buildings, six private houses, and administrative buildings were damaged.
Russian forces also attacked Siversk with artillery, killing one person and injuring another, and damaging a private house.
The Russians dropped a KAB-500 guided bomb on Tsukuryne, injuring six civilians, including a child born in 2009. Twenty-one private houses and two cars were damaged.
Enemy shelling also injured one person in Yampil and another in Niu-York.
The police and the Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
