Media: Ukraine to get good news on strengthening air defense at NATO summit

Ukraine is expected to receive good news about the delivery of additional air defense systems at the NATO summit to be held in Washington this month.

Reuters reports this with reference to an unnamed senior US State Department official, according to Ukrinform.

According to him, the United States plans to make several statements at the summit regarding air defense for Ukraine.

"You've heard that the Ukrainians are keen to secure additional Patriots or similar systems. And I think we'll have some additional good news for them on that front," the official said.

The official did not provide any details.

"We hope we'll be able to get to the summit and make some new announcements on air defence," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

As reported, the NATO summit will be held on July 9-11 in Washington.
