Zelensky: 14 brigades of AFU are not equipped due to delay in arms supplies

Due to the delay in the supply of Western weapons, 14 brigades in Ukraine remain understaffed.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Bloomberg, Ukrinform reports.

"We have brigades that are unarmed. We have reserves, we have 14 incomplete brigades that do not have weapons, which have already been voted for and discussed. The packages should come, but they are coming slowly," Zelensky said.

He noted that he was grateful to the US Congress for its support, "but it all has to come."

Asked whether a counteroffensive would take place this year or next, the President replied: "It depends on when we have all the equipment that Congress voted to provide and that European leaders supported."

As Ukrinform reported, on Wednesday, July 3, the United States government announced a new defense assistance package for Ukraine, which will include missiles for HIMARS systems, air defense interceptors, artillery shells and other weapons.
