Ukrainian Defense Forces down 24 out of 27 Russian combat UAVs overnight

Ukraine's Defense Forces downed 24 of 27 Russian Shahed strike drones overnight.

Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, on the night of July 6, 2024, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 32 Shahed-131/136 combat UAVs from temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia’s Primorsko-Akhtarsk region.

The enemy attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and EW units of the Air Force, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The defenders of the sky shot down 24 Shahed UAVs in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions.

As Ukrinform reported, on the night of July 6, the Sumy region suffered a drone strike on energy infrastructure.
