Ukrainian sappers clear over 2,000 items of unexploded ordnance over past week

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's mine clearance teams removed and neutralized 2,166 items of unexploded ordnance from June 28 to July 5.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The ministry said that 253 demining groups were involved in clearing the liberated territories from explosive remnants of war.

Over the past week, they examined and cleared 4,825.81 hectares of terrain, 4,806.21 hectares of agricultural land, 3.1 kilometers of power lines, 2.32 hectares of residential plots of land and 2.6 kilometers.

In total, sappers of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's units have discovered and destroyed 378,672 items of unexploded ordnance since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.
