Russians shell New York and Illinka in Donetsk region - two injured
Russian troops attacked the village of New York and the village of Illinka in the Donetsk region. Two people were injured and taken to the hospital.
This is reported by Suspilne Donbas with reference to the information of Anastasiia Miedviedieva a spokeswoman for the Donetsk Prosecutor's Office.
"Today, around 2 p.m., the occupiers fired on Illinka village in the Pokrovsk district. A 67-year-old woman was injured as a result of the enemy attack. She is hospitalized," said Miedviedieva.
According to the spokeswoman, a 63-year-old man was injured during another attack on the village of New York in the Bakhmut district. He was taken to a hospital for medical care.
Pre-trial investigations have been initiated over these facts under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which is a violation of the laws and customs of war, the prosecutor's spokeswoman added.
As Ukrinform reported, on July 7, Russian troops shelled the Nikopol and the Pokrov community with heavy artillery and drones. Educational institutions, apartments, and private houses, a gas pipeline were damaged, and fires broke out.
