Zelensky: Ukraine initiates convening emergency meeting of UN Security Council
Ukraine is initiating the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in response to Russian attacks.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk in Warsaw, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Ukraine is initiating the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the Russian strike on civilian infrastructure, including a children's hospital," Zelensky said.
He assured that "we will restore everything that Russian terrorists have destroyed today, and we will certainly respond to these inhumans from Russia."
"We must all work to bring Russia to justice for terror and Putin for the orders to launch strikes," the President stressed.
According to him, Russia responds to all peaceful initiatives with strikes on houses and hospitals.
"That is why we can only force Russia to peace. Only together we can do it," the Head of State stressed.
As reported, on the morning of 8 July, Russian invaders fired 40 missiles of various types at Ukraine. In Kyiv, 17 people were killed.
In particular, two adults, including a doctor, were killed in the Okhmatdyt children's hospital as a result of a Russian missile attack, and about 20 people were injured.
