F-16s will enable Ukraine to create conditions for counterattack – Polish ex- commander

The use of F-16 fighter jets by the Ukrainians will create conditions for a counterattack.

Jaroslaw Kraszewski, a Polish military expert and former commander of the rocket and artillery forces of the Polish Land Forces, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The situation will radically change on the battlefield when the Ukrainian aviation starts using the F-16. I think that then many positive things will happen for Ukraine, the planes will make it possible to create conditions for a counterattack. And I hope that Ukraine will have such a plan for this autumn, given the need to protect the country's critical infrastructure before the onset of winter, because Ukrainians must have normal living conditions - light, water, gas," the expert said.

According to him, Ukrainian combat aircraft should receive long-range missiles to destroy Russia's infrastructure, primarily airfields.

"When this happens, the logistics of the Russian army will be cut off from the main forces. If this can be done, then the command of the Ukrainian army must create a strike group and launch a strike. And this has to be done not in many sectors, but in one or at most two. The Ukrainian command knows better where it is better to do it. When the Russians begin to suffer significant losses due to airstrikes, ATACMS missiles, etc., Putin himself will offer to start peace negotiations," Kraszewski said.
