Explosions rock airport in Russia-occupied Mariupol

A series of blasts was reported at the airport of Mariupol, the Ukrainian city on the coast of the Sea of Azov temporarily occupied by Russian invasion forces.

That’s according to Petro Andriushchenko, an adviser to the city mayor in exile, who broke the news via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Explosions at the airport... (Russian Vice PM Marat – ed.) Khusnulin and (“DPR” puppet leader Denis – ed.) Pushilin were just there. Even without those two, there’s more of this kind there... What a beautiful day!” Andriushchenko wrote.

He added that the invaders are trying to convince local residents that the explosions came from the activated air defense systems.

Russian Telegram channels claimed that the strike allegedly inflicted damage on residential buildings in the area but no official reports were posted regarding casualties or destruction.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to local witnesses, on July 10, explosions were heard in three districts of Mariupol.
