Russian drone hits car in Donetsk region, killing police officer

In the Donetsk region, police officer Dmytro Petrenko was killed in a Russian drone strike on his car while on duty.

Ivan Vyhivskyi, Chief of the National Police of Ukraine, announced this on his Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, as a result of a Russian drone hitting a police car, a 38-year-old police captain Dmytro Petrenko, a 38-year-old police captain and officer at the Pokrovsk district department, sustained fatal injuries while on duty within the designated area.

"Dmytro started his service back in 2006. He was dedicated, kind and sincere. He helped people to the last day,” Vyhivskyi posted.

The deceased is survived by his wife, daughter, son and parents.

As reported by Ukrinform, at least five people were killed and 13 others wounded in the enemy shelling of Myrnohrad and Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region on July 12.
