Ukrainian air defense downs two Shaheds, eight reconnaissance drones
Ukraine's air defense units destroyed two Shahed-136/131 strike drones and eight reconnaissance UAVs late on July 15 and early on July 16.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"From the evening of July 15 and during July 16, 2024, air defense forces destroyed two Shahed attack UAVs and two more Shaheds were lost in the airspace of Belarus," the post reads.
On the southern and eastern fronts, air defense units shot down eight reconnaissance UAVs, including four Orlan-10s, two ZALAs, one Supercam and one unmanned aerial vehicle of an undetermined type.
In the early hours of Saturday, July 13, a Shahed kamikaze drone launched by Russia at Ukraine entered Belarusian airspace and stayed there for at least three hours.
