Two killed, six injured as Russian army shells Donetsk region
The Russian army shelled territorial communities in the Donetsk region on Tuesday, killing two people and leaving six others injured.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
Pre-trial investigations have been started in criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on July 23, at 17:20, Russian forces shelled a residential area in Lyman, killing two locals aged 58 and 66.
Two women aged 50 and 74 and a 51-year-old man were injured. According to preliminary reports, the army of the aggressor state used an Iskander missile.
In addition, at 18:00, Russian forces struck the Novohrodivka merged territorial community, attacking a highway with an FPV drone. Three civilians aged 49 to 68 were injured.
About 15 residential buildings and a car were damaged. Prosecutors are taking all measures to document war crimes committed by members of the Russian armed forces.
