Ukraine downs 20 Shahed drones overnight Friday

Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted 20 Russian kamikaze drones in the early hours of Friday, July 26.

That’s according to the Ukrainian Air Force, Ukrinform reports.

In total, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 22 one-way attack drones of the Shahed type.

The missile was launched from Russia’s Rostov region, targeting Ukraine’s Donetsk region, while kamikaze drones were launched from Cape Chauda (occupied Crimea) and Kursk (Russia).

Of the 22 drones, 20 were shot down over Kherson, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions.

The air raid was repelled by mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and air defense units of the country’s Air Force.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, an air raid alert went off across Kyiv region overnight Friday after a group of enemy drones was spotted in the airspace.
