Canada allows use of weapons provided to Ukraine on territory of Russian Federation

The Canadian Ministry of Defence said that the Ukrainian military could use tanks and armoured vehicles provided by Canada in Russia.

"Canada places no geographic restrictions on the use of military equipment that we donate to Ukraine." said department spokeswoman Andree-Anne Poulin.

She added that Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, "and we are committed to supporting their capabilities."

It is noted that Canada has handed over eight Leopard 2A4 tanks, several dozen armoured combat vehicles and hundreds of armoured patrol vehicles, as well as several M-777 howitzers to Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, the UK Ministry of Defence said that British weapons could be used by Ukrainian forces during operations in Russia, but restrictions on the use of long-range Storm Shadow missiles remain.
