One person killed and three wounded in Sumy region over 24 hours as result of shelling

In the Sumy region, 36 settlements were shelled over the past day, a civilian was killed and three civilians were injured as a result of the attacks.

This was reported by the regional police in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the past day, the occupiers fired on 36 settlements of the Sumy region with various types of weapons. A total of 177 attacks were recorded. As a result of the Russian attacks, one person was killed and three others were injured," - the statement said.

According to police, the shelling damaged an administrative building, 6 cars, a warehouse, a garage and a trailer. In addition, two houses caught fire.

Criminal proceedings were initiated over these facts under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Violation of the laws and customs of war".

On the night and morning of 16 August, the Russian military fired 23 times at the border communities of Sumy region, 65 explosions were recorded, according to a statement by the Sumy Regional Military Administration in Telegram.

According to the RMA, the Yunakivka, Miropilska, Bilopilia, Krasnopilia, Velykopysarivka, Berezivka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Seredyna-Budska and Sveska communities were shelled.

The enemy attacked the Krasnopilia community with mortars, artillery, an FPV drone and guided aerial bombs.

The Russians fired mortars and struck the Bilopilia community with an FPV drone and a guided aerial bombs.

An FPV drone strike was recorded in the Sveska community.

The Russian army launched a missile and a guided aerial bombs on the Yunakivska community.

Russian troops conducted an FPV drone strike on the Velykopysarivka community.

The Berezivka community was hit by a guided aerial bombs.

A guided aerial bombs was recorded on the territory of the Hlukhiv community.
