Japan to provide Ukraine with additional military equipment

At a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani told his counterpart Rustem Umerov that Japan will provide Ukraine with additional vehicles from the Self-Defense Forces.

That is according to NHK, Ukrinform reports.

“The Japanese minister expressed his country's willingness to continue supporting Ukraine and outlined a plan for an additional supply of Self-Defense Force vehicles,” the report says.

It is not specified what kind of equipment the Japanese side intends to transfer, but earlier Tokyo, according to various sources, sent to Kyiv about 100 vehicles from the Self-Defense Forces, including military trucks.

As reported by Ukrinform, Rustem Umerov congratulated Gen Nakatani, the new Japanese Defense Minister, on taking office and invited him to visit Ukraine in the near future.
