Two children killed in Russian shelling of Pokrovsk district
On the evening of October 21, Russian strikes killed two children in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region: a 14-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk region wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to the investigation, on October 21, 2024, at 21:00, the Russian army attacked Novoukrainka, the Pokrovsk district, with two UAVs, presumably, of the Shahed type. A 14-year-old girl was fatally injured. A 29-year-old woman sustained a broken leg and burns to her body.
In addition, at 23:50, the enemy dropped an aerial bomb on the village of Yantarne in the Kurakhivka urban community. A 64-year-old resident and an 11-year-old boy were killed as a result of an explosion in one of the houses. A 68-year-old man was injured.
In the settlements, fire and blast waves damaged residential buildings and outbuildings.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have been launched as part of criminal proceedings on violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the prosecutor's office said.
As reported, on October 21, Russians killed four residents of the Donetsk region: two in Myrnohrad, one each in the Kurakhivka community and Novoukrainka.
