Police officer killed in Russian shelling of Donetsk region

Police officer Vitaliy Serdiuk was killed in the Donetsk region as a result of Russian shelling.

That is according to the Communications Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukrinform reports.

“Vitaliy Serdiuk, a 42-year-old logistics police officer, senior police sergeant, worked in Kostiantynivka and was involved in evacuation efforts. He helped people until his last breath. As a result of a guided aerial bomb strike, the law enforcement officer was wounded. Doctors fought for his life for about a day. Unfortunately, Vitaliy died in hospital. The police officer is survived by his wife and two children,” the Interior Ministry said.

As reported, on September 1, 2024, the Kharkiv regional police informed that 44-year-old Kharkiv police captain Oleksandr Popovych, who, together with his colleagues, came under attack from an enemy FPV drone, died in hospital.
