Power supply situation critical in Ternopil region following Russia’s attack – regional authorities
Due to damage to a key energy facility in Ternopil region, the electricity supply situation remains critical.
This was reported by the Ternopil Regional Military Administration (RMA) on Facebook, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
"Over the past day, several technical issues were resolved, enabling the operation of all critical and social infrastructure facilities," the statement reads.
Efforts are ongoing to stabilize the situation by connecting to external networks in neighboring regions and using alternative sources of generation and co-generation. Ternopiloblenergo (regional energy supply company) has been forced to implement an electricity supply schedule that will vary based on available energy resources.
"Ternopiloblenergo and community leaders have been instructed to jointly develop schedules considering the need to maintain critical infrastructure, including industrial facilities with continuous technological processes," the RMA noted.
Residents of Ternopil region are urged to adopt energy-saving measures for household purposes.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian drone attacks caused damage to Ukrenergo networks in Ternopil region. According to Chief of the Ternopil RMA Viacheslav Nehoda, an energy facility critical to the region's power supply was struck multiple times. Air defense forces managed to shoot down three enemy drones.
